Services: Management of the off-shore
administration of the Indonesia ADS Program which awards 300
scholarships annually. The Program includes assistance to
organisations involved in Australian government projects in
Indonesia to utilise ADS for their human resource development
needs.
Completion: July 2008
The goal of the Indonesian ADS Program is to promote human
resource development in priority areas determined by the
Governments of Indonesia and Australia through the provision of
postgraduate training to well-qualified Indonesian students.
IDP manages the administration and coordination of the Program
including a capacity building component which involves working with
organisations involved with AusAID projects to assist them in
utilising ADS for their human resource development needs.
IDP also:
- Undertakes targeted promotion of scholarship
opportunities.
- Handles the despatch, receipt, and recording of scholarship
applications.
- Convenes and manages a selection team of six Australian
academics and six Indonesian academics to undertake short-listing
of potential applicants and conduct a joint selection process
through interview with each short-listed candidate throughout
Indonesia.
- Coordinates English language testing and manages, through
sub-contract, English language training for all awardees.
- Places all selected candidates into Australian university
courses.
- Facilitates course variations.
- Encourages alumni activities.
- Monitors and evaluates the Program to assess impact.
